Porsche Boxster Wind Deflectors for the 718, 981 & 982
Our Porsche Boxster wind deflectors replace the factory mesh on the 718, 981 and 982 Boxster. Whether you call it a wind deflector, wind stop, wind blocker, windscreen or wind diffuser (a Windschott in German), it’s the panel that sits between the roll-over hoops behind your seats and cuts cabin buffeting with the roof down.
Ours are machined from solid cast acrylic, 6–10mm thick, in clear or tinted, plain or engraved, and made to order in our own workshop. They slot straight into the factory fitting with no tools. Browse the full range below; if you’re looking for something a bit unusual, just ask.
Our wind deflectors were the subject of an article in the February 2025 edition of 911&Porsche World magazine.

The Ultimate Collection (Clear) Most popular
This range appeals to hardcore enthusiasts! At 10mm, these deflectors are much thicker than our Everyday collection. These are so incredibly rigid, they often get used as the ideal track-day GoPro mount location. When you’re back in the pit lane or rolling down the street the jewel-like shine from that massive, highly polished seen-edge gets noticed. These things really do look the business!
The High-Top Collection (Tinted or Clear)
This is a range of 8mm thick screens, using the same high-quality material as we use in all of our wind deflectors. These screens are 32mm taller than our standard height screens and are available in Clear or Tinted Perspex. They offer additional protection from cabin turbulence and are quickly becoming a hit with our customers whilst retaining the classy opulent look.
The Sunday Collection (Tinted)
This is a range of tinted screens, using the same high-quality material as we use in all of our wind deflectors. These screens have a nominal thickness of 8mm. They are cut out using our CNC laser and then machined on both sides in our CNC Mill. Finally, we machine polish the seen edge to really make it pop. Each one of these wind deflectors is a nice classy piece of kit.
The Everyday Collection (Clear)
This is our new replacement for our ‘standard’ screen. We decided to increase the material thickness to 6mm which means that we now machine them on one side to allow them to take the place of the Porsche OEM mesh. We use the very best 6mm thick cast Perspex, cut and engraved in our CNC laser and profiled in our CNC Mill. The edges are then mechanically polished to a spectacular shine.
Why ours don’t rattle
- Neoprene-cushioned edge – we run 2mm closed-cell neoprene tape along the machined edge, so the screen sits snugly in the slot with no loose feel and no hard acrylic-on-plastic contact to buzz or chatter.
- Machined to fit the latch – the edge that locks into your car is profiled on our CNC mill, so it sits snugly in the factory slot.
- Up to 10mm thick – thick enough that it simply doesn’t flex or flutter at speed.
What makes the Ultimate worth it?
Every Ultimate screen is made from one single piece of 10mm cast acrylic. Nothing is glued or bolted on – the shape that fits your car is machined into the screen itself, so there are no joins to crack, discolour or work loose. The seen edge is then machine-polished to a glass-like finish instead of being left as a rough cut. You may find cheaper screens made by sticking plastic parts onto a flat sheet and leaving the edge unfinished; ours are built as one solid piece and finished by hand.
Does my Boxster have the wind deflector slot?

Almost every 718, 981 and 982 Boxster has a slot built into the inside edge of each roll-bar hoop. If your car already has a wind deflector, or you can see a slot like the one marked in green, you’re ready to go.
The deflector slides into the slot, and the buttons marked in blue clip over its top edge to hold it in place. To take a deflector out, press both buttons into the roll-bar and lift it out.

No slot? If the inside edge of each hoop is smooth, like the one marked here, yours is one of the very few Boxsters built without the slot.
Not sure which you have? Read our full guide to the Boxster wind deflector slot, or send us a photo and we’ll tell you.

It can be added. Porsche may tell you the slot can’t be retrofitted, but that simply isn’t true. The slot is formed by the brackets shown here, which fit under the roll-bar covers. Once they’re in, any of our wind deflectors will fit.
Our fit guarantee and 3-year warranty
If it doesn’t fit your car, we’ll put it right. Every screen is made to fit the factory slot on the 718, 981 and 982 Boxster. If yours doesn’t sit as it should, get in touch with a photo and we’ll sort it out. See our Refund and Returns Policy for the details.
3-year warranty. Every wind deflector is guaranteed against faults in materials and workmanship for three years from delivery. If a problem shows up in that time, we’ll replace it. The warranty doesn’t cover scratches, impact damage or other accidental damage.
Frequently asked questions
Will it fit my Boxster?
Our screens fit the Porsche Boxster 718, 981 and 982 fitted with the factory wind deflector slot, which almost every car has. Check the section above to see whether yours does. If it doesn’t fit your car, we’ll put it right.
Is a wind deflector the same as a wind stop, wind blocker or windscreen?
Yes. Wind deflector, wind stop, wind blocker, windscreen and wind diffuser are all names for the same thing: the panel between the roll-over hoops that stops air swirling back into the cabin.
Does a wind deflector reduce buffeting?
That is exactly what it’s for. By blocking the air that curls over the back of the car, it cuts the buffeting and noise in the cabin with the roof down. Our High-Top screens are 32mm taller than standard for extra shelter.
How do I fit it?
No tools needed. Press the release buttons on each roll-over hoop, lift out the factory mesh, slide our screen into the same slot and let the buttons clip over its top edge.
Which one should I choose?
See the comparison table above. The Ultimate (10mm, clear) is our most popular and the most rigid; the Sunday is tinted; the High-Top is taller; the Everyday is our 6mm option.
Can I have my own design engraved?
Yes. We offer standard Porsche crests and graphics, and custom engraving on request – just get in touch.
How long does delivery take?
Most orders leave us within two working days. UK delivery is by Royal Mail Tracked, and we ship tracked to 45 other countries. See our Delivery page for typical times to your country.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: our fit guarantee, plus a 3-year warranty against faults in materials and workmanship (not covering scratches or impact damage).
Packaging & Delivery:
We make our own shipping boxes; these things are almost bulletproof. We make them from 7-10mm thick ‘BC flute’ double corrugated hard-faced cardboard. The wind deflectors are enclosed in three layers of black plastic wrap, which is then wrapped again in brown paper. This package is then suspended by bubble wrap within the box, and the box is hot-glued to seal it. Our bulletproof boxes have been delivered all over the world without ever encountering a single problem. Every parcel is tracked to your door. We prefer to deliver to an address where someone will be in, so it can be handed over safely and doesn’t go missing.
