Description
De Havilland Mosquito
The Mosquito was the fastest bomber in the world in its day. It looks amazing shimmering in the sun on a breezy day. It is c.645mm long (25 ⅜” ) and c.825mm wide (32 ½”), and the propellers are c.200mm wide (8”). The Mozzy turns itself into the wind as its twin propellers make the most of a breeze whilst catching the light in a very pleasing way as it moves.
The ‘clearer-than-glass’ Perspex looks very smart with its laser-engraved markings (no stickers here). The Acrylic that we use is genuine cast Perspex which is UV-stable and is one of the most widely used plastics for outdoor applications. This kit is our own design, we make them to order at our small home-based workshop. The propeller nose cone is 3D printed using ASA technical filament which is the only UV-stable filament currently available, these nose-cones house sealed, stainless steel deep groove ball bearings, and the supporting pivot for the fuselage has two of these bearings. This kit is far superior to everything else I’ve seen.
The fuselage, as a whole, is reasonably well-scaled to the original aircraft (c. 1:20) but the propeller is a little oversized.
Everything that we produce is made at our workshop in Yorkshire as was the original Mosquito aircraft.
We pride ourselves on our manufacturing standards, our turn-around times and our reputation for customer satisfaction. All the measurements are given in good faith. Please take a look at our feedback, it says it all.
We design and make everything that we sell which means that we are free to make off-book variations that may better serve your use case. If you want a variation then please ask via email.
